Paradise Garage ist ein Club, über den viel als der erste House Club geredet wird. Er galt auch als der Ort, wo man hingehen konnte, und sich auslebte, ungeachtet dessen, was oder wie man ist. Er wurde auch zum Club vieler Homosexueller.
Der Loft Club von David Mancuso kam kurz später in der House Entwicklung. Er hatte mehr Konzept, denn ihm war das Ganze wichtig; Atmosphäre, die Leute, der Ort usw. Er entwickelte sich schnell zu dem Club der Tänzer. Man redete sogar von “Lofting” als Tanzstil.
Larry Levan gilt als der Name wenn es um den Anfang von House Music geht. Er spielte was ihm gefiel und nicht den Massen. Somit nahm er sich auch die Freiheit, experimentell für diese Zeit zu sein. Auch DJ Nicky Sanio wurde viel im Zusammenhang genannt, der er und Lerry Levan gut befreundet waren.
Es wird viel diskutiert, ob der Garage Club wirklich der Ursprung ist oder doch eher das Loft. Dort spaltet sich die Welt noch heute.
