DE: Der Fernsehsender Arte hat eine 5-teilige kurze Doku erstellt, welche Berlin als Party Metropole darstellen soll. Vorallem geht es um die Thematik/Problematik, dass die Räume immer knapper werden und sich somit ein Grossteil der Partyszene nach draussen verlagert. Sei dies irgendwo im Wald, unter Brücken oder ähnliches. Vorallem im Sommer wimmelt es in Berlin nur so von Techno Festivals im Freien.
Viel Spass. Die Dokus dauern jeweils etwa 2 Minuten.
EN: The German television Broadcaster Arte published a 5-part documentation, which shows Berlin as the party metropolis. They talk about the topic/problem, that party locations/rooms are getting fewer and fewer and therefore party folks more and more party outside of clubs. If it’s in the forest, under some bridges or similar, it doesn’t matter. Especially in summer time, Berlin has so many techno festivals outside the clubs.

Im Film zeichnet sich das Leben von Richie Hawtin als DJ, Produzent, Performer und Ikone ab. Die Dokumentation geht ziemlich ins Detail und bringt die Anfänge von Richie auf den Punkt. Die grössten Themen im Film sind Plus 8 Records (John Acquaviva) wo seine Anfänge losgingen, Plastikman als eines seiner wohl grössten Ideen und Schwerpunkte, Jeff Mills als grosse Inspiration und als Vorbild damaliger Zeit und seine ausgeprägte Leidenschaft, die ihn dahin gebracht hat wo er heute ist.
Spannend macht das Ganze auch die vielen Kommentare von Herr/Frau Hawtin, seinem Bruder, John Acquaviva, Karl Kowalski, Derrick May, Sven Väth, Jason Huvaere, Mad Mike Banks, Clark Warner, Amir Daiza, DAniel Miller, Scott Gordon, Mike Himes & Magda.

In this documentary they show the life of Richie Hawtin as a DJ, producer, performer and an industry icon. It tells you pretty much details about the beginnings of Richie. The most discussed topics are Plus 8 Records (John Acquaviva) where it began, Plastikman as one of his biggest ideas and focus in life, Jeff Mills as a huge inspiration and model at that time and his strong passion, what lead him where he is today.

DE: Dubstep mag vielleicht nicht jedermanns Stil sein und doch ist er so einmalig das er bei vielen eine grosse Anziehungskraft ausübt. Geprägt vom wabligen Bass, der den Sound unverkennbar macht, hat sich Bristol, England zu einer der grösseren Dubstep Szenen heraufkatapultiert. In diesem 40-minütigen Film steht Bristol für die offenene Musikkultur, oder eben spezifisch für die grosse Dubstep Szene.
Während dem Film werden immer wieder verschieden DJs/Produzenten im Bereich Dubstep interviewed, wie Bristol in der Clublandschaft aufblüht mit Dubstep und was den Stil so magisch macht.
Ein gelungener Einblick in den Dubstep, worin “Pinch” als Produzent ziemlich im Mittelpunkt steht, da wie man im Film erwähnte, er die Szene mitunter ziemlich stark geprägt hat/noch tut.
Das ganze am Besten, der Film wurde inzwischen gratis zur Verfügung gestellt und kann frei heruntergeladen werden.
EN: Dubstep may perhaps not be to everyone’s gusto and yet he is so unique that it seems to bring up a strong attraction for many. Driven by wobbly basses, which makes the sound totally recognizable, Bristol, England was catapulted up to one of the major Dubstep scenes. In this 40-minutes film, which reflects perfectly the scene of Bristol, you have a short & cool insight in the big Bristol music culture.
During the film, many various DJs / producers in Dubstep are interviewed, such as how Bristol grows up in the club scene with Dubstep and what the style makes so magical.
A successful insight into the Dubstep scene, in which “Pinch” as a producer is pretty much in focus, because as they mentioned in the film, he has shaped the scene quite strong (or still does.)
