Interview: Matthew Herbert’s One Pig Documentary

DE: Matthew Herbert, der englische Grossmeister der ~~elektronischen~~experimentellen Musik, kommt bald mit einem neuen Album daher. Menschlich gesehen, mag das wohl ziemlich abgefahren sein, künstlerisch gesehen, ist es ein erneutes Meisterwerk. Während fast einem Jahr hielt er sich auf einer Farm auf um das Leben eines Schweins, bzw. den auditiven Teil davon aufzunehmen. Die Tracks sind nach den Namen der Monate benannt, die er auf der Farm verbrachte. Er sagt im Interview, dass er das Leben eines Schweins auditiv mitverfolgen wollte, bis es schlussendlich von Menschen gegessen wird, was natürlich auch wieder Töne erzeugt. Interessante Ansichten/Erklärungen von Matthew Herbert selber und ein grossartiges Projekt, künstlerisch gesehen.

Das Album “One Pig” wird am 7.10.2011 via Accidental Records veröffentlicht.

EN: Matthew Herbert, the British grandmaster of ~~electronic~~experimental music, soon comes along with a new album. From a human perspective, it might be quite strange, but from an artistic point of view, it’s another masterpiece. For almost one year, Matthew Herbert followed a pig’s life, or rather the sounds from a pig. The tracks are named after the names of the months he spent on the farm. He said in the interview, that he wanted to follow the life of a pig or rather the aural bits of it until it is finally eaten by humans, which also re-created tones. Interesting views / statements of Matthew Herbert himself and a quite interessting project, from an artistic point of view.

The album “One Pig” will drop to markets October 7th 2011 on Accidental Records.
